In the !buy menu you can choose a survivor to protect. Should they take lethal damage and you are in 700 unit range, you will die instead with the chosen survivor fully healing, losing tank aggro and clearing all bad statuses. While dead from this, you gain 1 bounty each time they earn bounty.

A survivor can only have 1 bodyguard but bodyguards can't have one.
